Question 1

Is Aung Villa a private villa in Ubud with its own pool?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Aung Villa is a private villa in Ubud for up to four guests, with two king bedrooms, three bathrooms and a private plunge pool in a walled courtyard that no other guest shares. It is a villa with a private pool, not a hotel with shared pools.

Question 2

Where should I stay in Ubud?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the trip. The centre around Ubud Palace and the Art Market is lively and busy, while a private villa in a residential lane gives you quiet and your own pool within a short ride of it. Aung Villa is the second kind: six minutes by car to Ubud Palace, seven to Ubud Art Market and ten to the Monkey Forest, then back to a walled garden and a private pool.

Question 3

How far is the airport, and how do I get here from Singapore or Australia?

Accepted Answer

International flights from Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere land at Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS). From there the villa is about 80 minutes by car, depending on traffic. We can arrange an airport transfer on request (about IDR 350k one way).

Question 4

Does Aung Villa have a rice-field view?

Accepted Answer

No, and we would rather say so plainly. The villa looks over a walled tropical garden at ground level, and from the upper terrace across a canopy of coconut palm, banana and elephant-ear with a valley beyond. Rice fields are a walk, not a view: head out through the lanes and you are among the sawah and everyday Balinese village life.

Question 5

How big is the pool, and can I swim laps in it?

Accepted Answer

It is a compact private plunge pool in the villa's own walled courtyard, with green mosaic tiling and dark stone coping, built for wading, cooling off and sitting in with a drink rather than swimming lengths. If lap swimming matters to your trip, Aung is not the right fit.

Question 6

Is Aung Villa suitable for two couples sharing?

Accepted Answer

Yes, that is exactly what it is built for. Both bedrooms have a king bed, air conditioning, a safe, room-darkening shades and a desk, so neither couple gets the lesser room, and there are three bathrooms for four guests. One thing to settle in advance: the upper bedroom is reached only by an external stone staircase, so if stairs are an issue for anyone in your party, take the ground-floor bedroom for them.

Question 7

How far is Ubud Palace, and is the villa quiet?

Accepted Answer

Ubud Palace is six minutes by car, but the villa sits off the main road in a residential lane, so after 10pm the loudest thing is insects. Guests reach the centre easily by scooter, taxi, Gojek or Grab, then come back to quiet.

Question 8

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Accepted Answer

Check-in is 14:00 with self check-in and someone available 24 hours to let you in. Check-out is 11:00, with luggage storage available afterwards. Late check-out until 14:00 is free whenever no other guest checks in that day.

Question 9

What is the cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Free cancellation up to 7 days before check-in, with your deposit refunded in full and no fee. A 50 percent deposit confirms the booking and the balance is due on check-in.

Question 10

How do I pay, and is it safe to book direct?

Accepted Answer

Bank transfer in IDR or USD, Wise, or cash on arrival. We send a written confirmation with bank details before any payment. Booking direct does not change the host or the villa, and our as-pictured promise covers you if the villa is not as shown.

Question 11

Is there parking, and how do I get around?

Accepted Answer

Free covered parking and a motorbike bay on the premises. Airport transfers from DPS can be arranged on request (about IDR 350k one way), scooter rental starts at IDR 80k per day, and Gojek and Grab work everywhere in central Ubud.

Question 12

Is there Wi-Fi, and can I work from the villa?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Wi-Fi throughout, and both bedrooms have a floating teak desk and chair, so the villa works well for remote work between trips into town.

Question 13

Are pets allowed, and can we have a party?

Accepted Answer

Pets are welcome with prior approval. Smoking is outdoors in designated areas only. Parties need the owner's approval, and quiet hours run 22:00 to 07:00 for the neighbours.
